Jay shares what he has learned about achieving success in life, and shows us a shortcut to get there.

“Everybody wants to change the world, but nobody wants to change themselves.” – Jay Samit

How do you find or shape insight?

Everyone has problems. And a business person solves them. If you start looking at every problem as an opportunity to solve something, it becomes very easy. Act on it and you will find success.

In his book “Disrupt You” he breaks down disrupting yourself, then your business, and then how it can be applied to the big problems we have in the world.

“The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose.” – Jay Samit

We only get one life, don’t you want to make the best of it? Everyone has the ability to make the first tomorrow and most people don’t move forward because they’re afraid of failure.

Failing is a given in everything we do. Failure is throwing in the towel.

Business traditionally is something that is created, then they figure out how to package, market and sell it…there are many pieces to the puzzle. But they are not all valued the same. They don’t all bring in as much business. Why not just focus on the part that has the most value?

Think of all the decisions, and wasted time we create. We have to start by being more thoughtful about how we want to live our life. Are we living our life so that we can pay bills until we die? We already lived our life and there is no need to relive past. We can be everything we want today.

Picture that person at work or your family that is always complaining. Always in a negative funk. That person would not see a million dollar idea if you dangled it in front of them. So do the opposite. Start your day off in a positive state of mind. Endorphins do a number on your brain and you become alert, your IQ increases, your personality and likelihood to be liked increases…So start your day off with these two affirmations:

  1. Today can be better than yesterday.
  2. I have the power to make it so.

What is an intrepreneur?

An intrepreneur looks at your business. If you don’t disrupt your own company and become that intrepreneur, the company will go out of business and you will lose your job. You have to step up and be willing to stand up and solve it. Even when you’re afraid you could lose your job for saying something.

If you’re going to spend the one shot of living this life and you’re not trying to work for yourself instead of making someone else rich, is it worth it? You never get these years back.

“Be the best at what you do, or be the only one doing it.”

Jay’s 3 Habits to Ensure He is Leading His Life on Purpose:

  2. Eat healthy
  3. Get out of your comfort zone and push yourself.

Jay’s Morning Routine:

He doesn’t like routine and doesn’t like to do things in the same order all the time. The more things you can do out of habit, the more you are challenging your brain constantly.
