On this episode of Food, Success & Life for the Modern women, Dr. John Dempster talks to us about aging gracefully and optimally. Anti-aging results start from within. With nutrition and not with fillers. Dr. Dempster discusses IV Vitamin Therapy, which is gaining popularity with the general public, and how it can help us age gracefully, perform better, recover quicker and live in optimal health.

 

How can we age optimally?

It needs to start within us. Anything we do to help our body avoid inflammation.

Do a very through panel of tests and look specifically into the patient’s goals. But the first thing they work on is nutrition. What foods do to their body and what types of nutrients do they have. If nutrients are deficient over time the body will start breaking down over time. If someone is symptomatic, it can be reversed.

What are general protocols for everyone?

Every single listener can benefit by increasing amount of green leaf vegetables. North Americans are generally not getting their 10 servings of vegetables and fruits. They help detox the body, and is anti-inflammatory. That goes a long way to help us feel great, and look amazing and be around for many years ahead.

Food is medicine, and medicine is food. Even when someone is coming in for a vitamin IV program, they first start them up with nutrition and build up to the therapy. Many foods today are being stripped of their nutrients before we even get them. We also really need to make sure our body is absorbing the nutrients well, and most of us are not due to leaky gut and other gut health issues. So IV therapy is very effective for immediate absorption.

IV Therapies help people with chronic diseases to feel better and avoid further conditions like heart disease and cancer. It is also being used by athletes to perform better and recover more rapidly, and want to be at their best.

We are doing a lot more these days with our lives. We’re super busy, stressed out, sleeping less, taking less vacations, and all of this adds up. We should be concerned about what is going to happen to our generation.

What is the typical treatment cycle?

It does vary widely. But there are generalities. If someone is generally healthy, but just working super hard at work, will usually start with about 3 in a row, and then go down to about 1 a month. But really depends on everyone’s lifestyle.

 

Is it possible to work long distance with Dr. Dempster and his protocol?

Yes. But not every country has doctors that are qualified and willing to do this treatment. But they generally meet with Dr. Dempster and then follow his protocols from a distance.

Examples of patients he has helped range from those that come in to cure a hangover and patients that came in with cancer and only a few months to live, they’ve been on this treatment and going strong after 5 years, and patients with mental health issues that have been able to get off their medications.

 

What tests should we be analyzing?

  1. 80/20 rule on eating. 80% of the time be super healthy and do the best you can; 20% of the time have some fun with foods and maybe a glass of wine, but be responsible.
  2. Take time with the ones that you love. Do fun things and take holidays and vacations. You’ll be a better, more productive person and be recharged for it. Reset your mental capacity and bring down your stress hormones. Even spending a day to yourself.
  3. Breathe. If you take 10 deep breathes every time you remember, you’re going to reduce the impact of stress by 40%. You can do it while driving, in the boardroom, etc.
